Job summary

Quidient is hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer to own the backend systems and cloud infrastructure powering our GSR Platform. You’ll own the API layer, cloud architecture, and backend services moving 3D scene data from mobile capture through processing to delivery via Quidient Reality.

This hybrid role requires residing near our Columbia, MD Technology Center and delivering production-ready backend code in Python and/or Node.js.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend/API production experience.
• Design APIs, data models, and service boundaries for production load.
• Strong AWS experience at the application layer (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, EC2, ECS/EKS, CloudFormation).
• Hands-on Docker and microservice architectures.
• Strong Python and/or Node.js in production backend contexts.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code.
• This position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.
• This role requires on-site work in Columbia, MD, in hybrid capacity.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the backend API layer for partners and internal apps.
• Design and maintain microservices for 3D data flow from capture to cloud.
• Build and operate AWS infrastructure with focus on reliability and security.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and container deployments.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot backend and cloud issues, ensure uptime.
• Address security, IAM, encryption, and authentication practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to unblock product delivery.
