Job summary

Citi is seeking an Applications Development Technology Senior Lead to drive enterprise applications strategy, architectural direction, and delivery across platforms. You will lead Java and Spring upgrade efforts, set performance and security standards, and oversee caching, infrastructure collaboration, IaC, and CI/CD practices.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, engineering governance, and delivering scalable, secure, high-performance solutions in a large financial services environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in Java core concepts (OOP, Concurrency, JVM internals).
• Strong working knowledge of Spring Framework (Boot, MVC, Data, Security, Cloud).
• Experience with database technologies (SQL, ORM) and API design (RESTful, GraphQL, API Gateway).

Responsibilities

• Provide executive oversight on Java and Spring upgrade programs.
• Set standards for JVM performance, GC tuning, memory management, and observability.
• Govern GemFire/Apache Geode caching strategy across the enterprise.
• Own relationships with Infrastructure and DevOps for clusters, containers, IaC, and CI/CD.
• Define operating standards and processes for the group.
• Monitor SDLC phases and ensure on-time delivery.
