Job summary

Bexar County Information Technology seeks a Senior Applications Developer to deliver robust software solutions in a largely telework-friendly environment. You will represent the county professionally and partner with stakeholders to ensure reliable IT services and successful project delivery.

Responsibilities include leading software development, system integration, UI design, database interfacing, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Qualifications

Requires 5-7 years of experience or equivalent
7+ years in technical integration, software development or similar field
Strong knowledge of object oriented programming and .NET (VB/C#)
Familiarity with C, C++, PHP, Java, XML and JCL a plus; SDLC/MVC; DevOps; SQL; web servers
Experience with ESB architectures, BizTalk, XML, SOAP/REST and Web Services
Proven ability to estimate, plan and execute tasks across multiple teams

Responsibilities

Serves as subject matter expert with urgency and personal accountability
Applies established software development and integration principles to analyze complex issues
Develops or modifies systems software for internal use; requirements gathering, coding, testing, deployment and maintenance
Performs software development including UI design, prototyping, database interfacing, and testing
Ensures system and architectural alignment with business standards
Analyzes, documents technical impacts and dependencies for applications
Responds to service requests and bug reports; reviews legacy code
Produces comprehensive requirements documentation for configuration and scope management
Supports testers and operations staff as needed
