Job summary

The City of San José is seeking a Senior Systems Applications Programmer to support Development Services Solutions. You will work on core systems, data reporting, and integration with BI tools in a hybrid telework setting.

Qualifications include a Baccalaureate Degree in a related field and 3 years of progressive programming experience. Flexibility for 32-hour onsite workweek and collaborative teamwork are valued.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of increasingly progressive experience in computer systems applications programming.
• Education substitutions allowed for up to two years of the degree requirement.
• Competencies include job expertise, problem solving, project management, customer service, teamwork, and communication.
• Technical experience in RESTful services, data reporting, and AI-related tools is valued.

Responsibilities

• Develop or customize systems using Angular/React, Spring Boot, Java, Jax-RS, PL/SQL, SQL, JavaScript, HTML/CSS.
• Document defects and feature enhancements and gather reporting requirements.
• Create reports using Yellowfin, Crystal Reports and Power BI and provide end-user training.
• Maintain and upgrade existing systems and prepare technical documentation.
• Mentor team members and review code.
