Job summary

The City of San José invites applications for a Senior Applications Developer within the Development Services Solutions team of the Information Technology Department. You will support and enhance core systems across planning, building, and code enforcement, leveraging Angular/React, Java, PL/SQL, and reporting tools such as Power BI and Crystal Reports.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in applications programming, a CS-related degree, and strong data analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Science, Information Management Systems or related field.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience in computer systems applications programming.
• Substitutions allowed up to two years of education with related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop new or customize existing systems using Angular/React, Spring Boot, Java, Jax-RS, PL/SQL, SQL, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS.
• Document defects and feature enhancements; maintain end-user and technical documentation.
• Gather reporting requirements and create reports using Yellowfin, Crystal Reports or Power BI.
• Provide end-user training and ongoing support; upgrade existing systems.
