Job summary

Entegris in Bedford, MA is seeking an Applications & Design Engineer to join our Specialty Coatings Group. You will support new product development of ALD, PVD, and PECVD coatings and scale-up activities through applications engineering and mechanical design, collaborating with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality to improve product performance and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Requires BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Elective engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in applications/design/manufacturing engineering or NPD.
• Experience with vacuum technology.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and mechanical design principles.
• Experience supporting product development and manufacturing environments.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams with multiple priorities.
• Limited travel (<10%).
• On-site role with some work-from-home flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Support development and qualification of new coating applications and manufacturing solutions.
• Assist process development, optimization, troubleshooting, and transfer to manufacturing.
• Design, fabricate, and qualify fixtures and tooling using SolidWorks.
• Create and maintain drawings, specifications, BOMs, and engineering change docs.
• Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Operations, Safety to improve manufacturability and product quality.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation for new products and processes.
• Participate in root-cause investigations and continuous improvement.
• Support equipment and process modifications to meet objectives.
• Work with suppliers to develop components and fixtures.
