Job summary

Specialty Coating Systems, Inc. is seeking an Applications Engineer I to support development of parylene and liquid coating processes. You will investigate new technologies, address process anomalies, and provide problem-solving input in collaboration with manufacturing and quality teams.

You will work with customers and internal teams to develop costed process solutions, maintain documentation, and drive yield improvements while ensuring safety and compliance at the Austin facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related area with 1+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or lab setting.
• Experience with organic/liquid coatings and coating processes preferred.
• Familiarity with coating standards and laboratory practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop processes for customer products through coating technologies to support service growth.
• Perform experiments to improve current processes and investigate new materials and technologies.
• Maintain thorough technical documentation of work.
• Provide advanced technical support for process-related issues and product introductions.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and equipment engineering to implement new and improved processes and designs.
• Work toward cost containment and improved yield on a continual basis.
• Support customer needs in coordination with other departments.
