Job summary
NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to support daytime operations within a complex healthcare environment. You will monitor critical database systems, perform backups, manage access, and assist with deployments under supervision.

Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or equivalent; experience in senior technical support in IT.
- Experience with enterprise RDMS (Microsoft or Oracle).
- Knowledge of server OS, especially Microsoft products.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- Healthcare data familiarity is advantageous.
- Full UK/EU/EEA driving licence.
Responsibilities
- Monitor database systems for availability, performance, and stability.
- Perform backups, integrity checks, and scheduled jobs.
- Support deployments and changes under supervision.
- Assist with performance monitoring and issue escalation.
- Manage database access and security controls.
- Contribute to incident investigations with logs and diagnostics.
- Maintain runbooks and operational documentation.
- Drive upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management.
