Federated Hermes, Inc. is seeking a Senior Application Specialist in Warrendale, PA to lead the design and optimization of large-scale data solutions on Databricks.

You will build scalable data pipelines with PySpark/SQL, design analytics data models, and ensure governance and security across workflows. The role offers a hybrid in-office/remote schedule in Warrendale, with opportunities to mentor the Enterprise Data & Analytics team under Global Technology Organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years' programming experience including big data.
• Experience with Python, SQL, and Azure cloud platform.
• Familiarity with Data lakehouse principles and Kimball data models.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools and BI platforms preferred.
• Databricks certification or cloud platform certification preferred.

What You'll Do

This position is part of the Enterprise Data & Analytics Capability team under Global Technology Organization. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of large-scale data solutions on the Databricks platform.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on Databricks (using Spark, Delta Lake, etc.)
• Write clean, efficient and maintainable PySpark or SQL code for data transformation.
• Design robust data models for analytics and reporting.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance.
• Handle batch and streaming data workflows.
• Provide architectural guidance and support in platform usage.
• Drive best practices in data engineering across the team.
• Monitor and optimize performance of Spark jobs and cluster usage.
• Ensure compliance with security and data privacy standards.

This position offers a hybrid schedule (in-office/remote) and is located in Federated Hermes' Warrendale, Pennsylvania office (15086).

The Expertise We are Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years' programming experience which includes a minimum of one year working with big data platform, experience in data engineering domain, Python, SQL, and cloud platforms such as Azure.
• Familiarity with the relevant systems, tools, languages and business domain which includes: Data lakehouse principles, relational and Kimball data models required.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools required.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools and BI platforms prefered.
• Certification in Databricks or relevant cloud platforms prefered.
