Job summary

Synopsys Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Application Engineer with deep VLSI design expertise and hands-on experience across Ethernet, DDR, and PCIe.

The role covers design, verification, or application engineering, including RTL, simulation, synthesis, and timing analysis in a UNIX environment. You will support Interface IP customers during SoC bring-up, provide technical guidance, and collaborate with R&D and field teams to meet customer milestones.

Qualifications

• BSEE/BSCE or MSEE/MSCE with 10+ years of experience, or equivalent experience with a focus on VLSI design.
• Experience in design, verification, or application engineering.
• Proficiency in RTL coding using Verilog and/or VHDL.
• Experience with high-speed protocols such as Ethernet, DDR, and PCIe.
• Hands-on experience with simulation, synthesis, and static timing analysis.
• Familiarity with UNIX environments and ASIC/SoC tape-out processes.
• Knowledge of CDC, RDC, lint, DFT, STA, and LEC is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supporting Interface IP customers with integration across the SoC design flow
• Providing technical guidance to help resolve integration, implementation, and debug challenges
• Assisting with technical reviews at key milestones and helping customers work through issues efficiently
• Supporting silicon and system bring-up, including hands-on debug of critical issues
• Partnering with R&D, product teams, and field teams to deliver solutions aligned to customer requirements
• Staying current on evolving industry standards, protocol requirements, and application trends across key market segments
• Supporting customer engagements through occasional travel, including on-site technical collaboration and bring-up activities
