Job summary

Sterling Pharma Solutions is seeking a Senior/Principal Chemical R&D Scientist to drive development and optimization of robust, scalable synthetic processes for small molecule APIs from early development through technology transfer. You will lead cross-functional teams, mentor junior scientists, and prepare complex technical documentation for clients and regulatory filings.

The role requires deep expertise in synthetic chemistry, process development, and GMP knowledge, with responsibility for

Qualifications

• Experience in synthetic route development, reaction optimization and scale-up for small molecule APIs.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field with 15+ years of experience or Master’s with 9+ years or PhD with 5+ years.
• CDMO or fast-paced development environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and execute process development and optimization for small molecule APIs.
• Perform DOE and impurity fate/purge studies to control critical parameters.
• Lead tech transfer and scale-up to manufacturing with on-site support.
• Mentor and coach junior scientists and contribute to team development.
• Prepare development reports, specifications and regulatory documentation.
• Serve as technical lead in client meetings and project reviews.
