Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Scientist in Chemical Process Development to design and implement scalable organic synthesis routes for drug candidates. You will conduct experiments, collect data, and communicate findings to project teams, aiming for robust, safe processes aligned with program goals.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in organic chemistry or related field with 0–3 years of additional related research experience, or a M.Sc in organic chemistry or related field with 4–8 years of additional experience related research experience.
  • Strong background in the theory and practice of synthetic organic chemistry and a thorough understanding of synthetic methods and reaction mechanisms.
  • Expertise in purification and characterization of organic compounds (Chromatography, NMR, MS, IR).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for route scouting and design/implementation of safe, efficient and robust chemical processes for synthesis of drug candidates.
  • Design and execute experiments; analyze and share data with project teams and management.
  • Develop knowledge to support transition of processes from labs to clinical supply, regulatory filings and manufacturing vendors; collaborate with Analytical Chemistry and engineering teams.
