Job summary

Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is seeking a Sr. Integration Architect to join the National Integration Services team, focusing on a scalable API Management Platform for the Federal Reserve System.

You will lead API integration efforts and design secure, high‑performance flows across enterprise systems. The role requires expert knowledge of API gateways, security protocols, and containerized deployments with Docker and Kubernetes, plus strong leadership and communication skills to

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent work experience.
Eight+ years in software design and development with at least four years in enterprise integration architecture, APIs, and middleware.
Hands-on experience with API gateways and management tools like MuleSoft, AWS API Gateway, Apigee, Kong.
Mastery of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, mTLS, and API key management.
Mastery of Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP) such as content-based routing and aggregators.
Experience deploying and scaling integrations using Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and SOAP.

Responsibilities

Define enterprise-wide technical strategy for API management, middleware, and backend integrations.
Design end-to-end integration flows using EIP patterns for synchronous and asynchronous processes.
Enforce enterprise standards for API design, versioning, data privacy, security and catalog discovery.
Architect secure integration patterns using standard identity protocols and encryption.
Monitor and optimize high-throughput messaging and API gateways for low latency and high availability.
Collaborate with Lines of Businesses to architect and support integration solutions.
Install, configure, and support MuleSoft and AWS API Gateway platforms.
Build cross-organizational relationships and influence IT staff across the organization.
