Job summary

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is seeking a Sr. Integration Architect to lead API management and enterprise integration efforts within the National Integration Services group.

You will design secure, scalable integration patterns and guide cross‑functional teams across IT to deliver reliable APIs and middleware. You will leverage MuleSoft, AWS API Gateway, and Apigee, with strong expertise in OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and mTLS, while ensuring data privacy and high availability

Qualifications

• Eight or more years in software design and development, with at least four years focused on enterprise integration architecture, APIs, and middleware.
• Hands-on experience with API gateways and management tools like MuleSoft, AWS API Gateway, Apigee, Kong.
• Mastery of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, mTLS, and API key management.
• Mastery of Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP) such as content-based routing and aggregators.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise-wide technical strategy for API management, middleware, and backend system integrations.
• Design end-to-end integration flows using EIP for synchronous and asynchronous processes.
• Establish enterprise standards for API design, versioning, data privacy, security and catalog discovery.
• Architect secure integration patterns with identity protocols, encryption-in-transit, and firewalls.
• Monitor, scale, and optimize high-throughput message brokers and API gateway topologies.
• Work with Lines of Businesses to architect, implement and support integration solutions.
• Help install, configure, and support MuleSoft, AWS API Gateway platforms.
• Build cross-organizational relationships and influence staff across IT and the Fed system.
