Job summary

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is seeking a Sr. Integration Architect to join the National Integration Services team.

You will design and govern enterprise API management, integrate systems, and guide secure, scalable solutions across the bank's distributed environment. You will lead patterns, collaborate with business lines, and implement platforms such as MuleSoft and AWS API Gateway while enforcing security and data privacy.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years in software design and development with emphasis on integration architecture.
• Hands-on experience with API gateways and management tools (MuleSoft, AWS API Gateway, Apigee, Kong).
• Mastery of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, mTLS, and API key management.
• Proficiency with Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP) including routing, filtering and aggregators.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/OpenShift) for deployment.
• Strong knowledge of REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and SOAP.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise-wide API management strategy and integration patterns.
• Design end-to-end integration flows for synchronous and asynchronous processes.
• Enforce API design standards, security, and catalog discovery.
• Architect secure patterns with identity protocols and encryption.
• Monitor and optimize high-throughput message brokers and API gateways.
• Collaborate with Lines of Businesses to implement integration solutions.
• Install, configure and support MuleSoft, AWS API Gateway platforms.
• Foster cross-organizational relationships across IT and NIS.
