Job summary

Huntington Bancshares, Inc. is seeking an Automation QA Lead to define and advance the test automation strategy for the API Gateway platform.

You will lead platform-level quality engineering, build scalable automation frameworks, and drive automated testing across CI/CD pipelines. The role combines hands-on automation, quality leadership, and DevOps practices to ensure reliability, security, and performance of enterprise API services.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
7+ years of experience in software quality assurance, automation engineering, or quality engineering.
5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing automated test frameworks.
Experience testing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
Experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Postman, Karate, Rest Assured, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent.
Experience developing automation using Java, JavaScript, Python, or C# or similar languages.
Experience working within Agile and DevOps environments.
Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

Own and drive the test automation vision and roadmap for the API Gateway platform.
Design and implement scalable automation frameworks for API, integration, regression, performance, and security testing.
Establish quality engineering standards, testing best practices, and automation governance across the platform.
Partner with engineering, architecture, product, and platform teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC.
Define quality metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop and maintain reusable automation frameworks and test harnesses for enterprise API services.
Build automated API validation suites covering functionality, security, performance, resiliency, and compliance requirements.
Integrate automated testing into Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
Implement automated regression suites that enable rapid and reliable platform releases.
