Job summary

Nearmap is seeking a Software Engineer for the API team to tackle high‑resolution imagery and location data at scale. You will design data pipelines, optimize responses for geospatial queries, and collaborate with Product to shape solutions from concept to production.

You’ll work across multiple stacks, architect new microservices, and improve how developers integrate with our platform. Strong Go and/or C# experience and cloud/containers are valued.

Qualifications

• 2+ years software engineering experience with Go and/or C#, preferably full-stack API work.
• Experience designing microservices and robust APIs for scalable systems.
• Proven work with cloud environments (AWS preferred) and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Understanding of relational or NoSQL databases and agile methodologies.

Job Description

As a Software Engineer on our API team, you'll tackle the unique challenges of serving high-resolution aerial imagery and location data at scale—from designing efficient data pipelines to optimizing response times for complex geospatial queries.

You’ll collaborate directly with Product to shape solutions from concept to production, working across multiple technology stacks to solve complex technical challenges. Whether you’re optimizing APIs for scale, architecting new microservices, or improving how developers integrate with our platform, your work will directly impact how businesses use location intelligence to make critical decisions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years software engineering experience, including at least 6-12 months with Go and/or C#
• Microservice and API design
• Working with cloud environments (AWS preferred including Terraform and Kubernetes)
• Containerisation
• Databases (relational or NoSQL)
• A passion for continuous improvement, agile methodologies and lean software development
