Job summary

Kong Inc. is seeking a Staff Solutions Engineer to act as a trusted technical advisor for enterprise customers, architecting secure, scalable API ecosystems and guiding AI connectivity initiatives.

You’ll engage with executives and engineers to map requirements to Kong solutions, lead POCs, and drive multi-stakeholder deals. You will mentor junior SEs, author technical blogs, present at industry events, and influence product direction by translating customer feedback into actionable input for

Qualifications

• Experience owning complex enterprise deals with multiple stakeholders.
• Mentor or coach other SEs or technical teams.
• Strong API security and cloud-native platform knowledge.
• Hands-on with AI-assisted development tooling.

Responsibilities

• Support field sales by articulating Kong value for API and AI connectivity.
• Lead technical discovery and map requirements to Kong solutions.
• Own POC validation and stakeholder alignment across deals.
• Deliver demonstrations of Kong’s governance capabilities.
• Mentor junior SEs and coach deal strategy.
• Create technical docs for implementations and services.
• Lead technical workshops to validate fit for AI/agentic architectures.
• Influence product direction with customer feedback.
