Kong Inc. is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join our Professional Services team.

This role focuses on helping enterprise customers adopt Kong’s API and AI Connectivity platform through hands-on implementation, automation, migration tooling, and solution engineering across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments. You will work directly with customer engineering teams to design and deliver production-grade solutions, collaborate with Solutions Architects and Product teams, and shape

Qualifications

8+ years in customer-facing engineering or similar roles.
Strong hands-on software engineering and implementation experience.
Experience with API gateways, API management, or distributed systems.
Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure expertise.
Proficiency with Linux, networking, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and implement Kong-based solutions across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments.
Lead hands-on implementation for API gateways, AI gateways, service mesh, and related connectivity technologies.
Develop automation, migration tooling, and reusable accelerators.
Drive migrations from legacy API management platforms to Kong.
Collaborate with customers’ teams and Kong stakeholders to deliver deployable solutions.
