Kong Inc. is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join the Professional Services team. You will work directly with enterprise customers to design and deliver Kong-based solutions, focusing on API gateways, AI connectivity, and cloud-native modernization.

This role emphasizes hands-on implementation, automation, migration tooling, and close collaboration with product and engineering teams to drive customer outcomes at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering or related field preferred.
• Strong background in cloud-native, distributed systems and APIs.
• Proven experience in enterprise customer delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and implement Kong-based solutions for enterprise customers.
• Lead hands-on implementation for API gateways, AI gateways, and service mesh.
• Develop automation, migration tooling, and reusable accelerators.
• Drive migrations from legacy platforms to Kong.
• Collaborate with customer teams and internal Product/Engineering groups.
• Create production-grade code, scripts, and CI/CD integrations.
