Job summary

Valero Energy in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Staff Advanced Process Control Engineer to lead APC implementations and maintain DMC software across refinery units. The role requires hands-on APC experience, on-site collaboration with site resources, and development of inferential sensors, models, and control strategies.

The position is salaried exempt with travel up to 30% and a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement within a large refining organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (required).
• 8 years of process control engineering experience in the Refining industry with extensive APC implementation experience (required).
• Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically and/or internationally.
• Must be able to work on-site at Valero San Antonio location.

Responsibilities

• Designs and maintains APC applications across refinery units (DMC/DCS interfaces).
• Leads multiple projects with site and contract resources.
• Develops corporate APC standards, metrics, and training materials.
