Job summary

Shell in Louisiana, serving Norco Refining and Chemical Production, seeks a Senior APC Engineer to lead site-wide APC strategy, performance, and lifecycle management. You will drive improvements, mentor engineers, and coordinate cross-functional teams to maximize throughput, yield, and energy efficiency.

The role focuses on APC applications development, troubleshooting, monitoring, and sustained value delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in industrial process control and/or dynamic matrix control.
• Demonstrated APC experience, including application development, commissioning, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and sustainment; PACE experience a plus.
• Demonstrated knowledge of base-layer control, complex control, and manufacturing operations.
• Ability to identify and translate operating and economic opportunities into practical APC solutions and sustained business value.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and provide site-wide technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide site-wide technical leadership and day-to-day assurance for APC applications.
• Serve as site APC and PACE technical authority for strategy, performance, and lifecycle management.
• Develop and implement the site APC strategy aligned with production and asset objectives.
• Develop proactive technical monitoring to improve controller uptime and conformance.
• Lead APC improvement opportunities and drive continuous performance gains.
• Collaborate with Control Systems Engineers to improve base-layer and complex control performance.
• Mentor APC Engineers and Control Systems Engineers in PACE development and maintenance.
• Communicate APC performance, risks, and realized benefits to stakeholders.
