Job summary

D.O.M. magazine is seeking a Senior A&P Mechanic to join its life-saving air medical transport team in McKinney, TX. You will review maintenance, ensure airworthiness, and coordinate with the Lead Mechanic on aircraft changes while maintaining RAMCO documentation.

Required are an FAA A&P Certificate (Airframe & Powerplant), a minimum of 2 years’ experience, and strong communication skills. Travel and night shifts may be required; sign-on bonus up to $15,000 included.

Qualifications

• FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a certified aircraft mechanic.
• Strong communication and basic computer skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently, sometimes on short notice, and night shifts as needed.
• Live within 60 miles of the assigned base.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess daily maintenance and inspection needs to ensure aircraft airworthiness.
• Communicate with Lead Mechanic regarding unusual situations requiring schedule or aircraft changes.
• Oversee aircraft maintenance at field bases, manage stock levels and requisition parts.
• Prepare detailed maintenance reports and certify compliance with FAA, manufacturer, and company standards.
• Maintain RAMCO system entries for all maintenance documentation.
• Coordinate with Lead Mechanic and related teams to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Supervise parts inventory and recommend adjustments to inventory levels.
• Maintain and calibrate company‑provided tools and equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.


• FAA Mechanic Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings.


• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a certified aircraft mechanic.


• Strong communication and basic computer skills.


• Must pass a pre-employment physical exam, including strength/flexibility testing, drug screening, and background check.


• For Roving Maintenance Team: Sheet metal repair and/or avionics troubleshooting/repair skills preferred.


• Willingness to travel frequently, sometimes on short notice, and work night shifts as needed.
