Job summary

Inversion seeks an RF Systems Engineer to own end-to-end RF/Telemetry systems for next‑gen reentry vehicles. You will develop link budgets, model antennas, and lead testing from lab to vehicle in challenging space environments.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure regulatory compliance and robust ground station networks, contributing to flight readiness and mission success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or equivalent engineering field.
• Typically 5+ years of aerospace/defense RF hardware experience.
• Experience with RF link budgets and antenna/ RF component modeling.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-fidelity RF link budgets and antenna radiation patterns.
• Perform trade studies to select RF components (transmitters, transceivers, PAs, LNAs, antennas).
• Lead benchtop and vehicle‑level RF testing; bridge hardware with software for telemetry validation.
• Establish and test ground station networks using S‑band and L‑band frequencies.
• Collaborate with software, GNC, power, and mechanical teams for optimal antenna placement and thermal management.
• Lead the gathering of technical data and documentation for regulatory licensing (FCC, ITU, NTIA).
• Design and own RF test systems and develop test plans across space and reentry environments.
