Job summary

Inversion, based in Playa Vista, CA, is seeking an RF Test Engineer to verify and validate flight and ground RF/Telemetry systems for its next-generation re-entry vehicles. You will own RF test plans from benchtop validation to integrated hardware testing and mission-readiness verification.

You’ll work within the Avionics team under the Director of Engineering, Avionics, developing hardware and systems, collaborating across RF, antenna, DSP, FPGA, software, and electrical engineers, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field with RF emphasis.
• 3-5 years of professional RF test experience or equivalent academic project experience.
• Hands-on RF test experience for component, subsystem, and system-level validation.
• Experience with RF test setup development, calibration, troubleshooting, and data collection.
• Experience with test automation using Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar tools.
• Ability to develop test plans, procedures, and formal reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute RF test plans and verification methods for components, subsystems, and full vehicle systems.
• Set up and troubleshoot laboratory configurations for RF receiver/transmitter validation.
• Measure RF performance including gain, noise figure, bandwidth, and dynamic range.
• Perform tests with spectrum analyzers, VNAs, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
• Support integration, debugging, and data collection across RF, digital, and embedded hardware.
• Document test data in formal reports and engineering briefings.
• Coordinate with RF, antenna, DSP, FPGA, software, and electrical teams during tests.
