Job summary

Lyten is seeking a Senior Engineer-Anode to lead development and optimization of high‑capacity metal anode formulations, including Li-metal and advanced composite chemistries. You will advance SEI design and scalable cell architectures for next‑generation energy storage.

You'll work in a hands‑on, on‑site lab environment, partnering with Electrolyte, Cathode, and Cell Design teams to drive full‑cell performance, safety, and manufacturability for pilot‑scale production.

Qualifications

• PhD/MS/BS with 3+ years in battery field.
• 3+ years with metal anode systems and SEI design.
• Proficient in alloy/composite synthesis and advanced diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Design, synthesize, and optimize metal anode formulations and composite architectures to suppress dendrite formation and manage stack pressure/volume expansion.
• Test coin cells, pouch cells (single/multi-layer) under dry-room/inert conditions.
• Evaluate Li plating/stripping, cycle life, rate performance and impedance across conditions and N/P ratios.
• Utilize SEM, XPS, XRD, EIS and post-mortem analysis to characterize interfaces and SEI degradation.
• Collaborate with process engineers to scale promising lab formulations to production.
• Establish QC parameters, material specs, and DFM guidelines for pilot-scale manufacturing.
• Work with Electrolyte, Cathode, and Cell Design teams to optimize full-cell performance and safety.
