Job summary

The University of Miami is seeking a Senior Anesthesia Technician to assist the anesthesia care provider by preparing equipment, supplies, and medications for anesthesia. You will support routine and complex surgical cases and ensure safe operation of monitors and anesthesia delivery systems.

Key responsibilities include maintaining anesthesia equipment, preparing patient monitoring devices, troubleshooting, and collaborating with clinicians and staff to safeguard patient safety and care quality.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a relevant field required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Equivalent experience may be considered with clinical exposure.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, sterilizes, disinfects, and maintains routine anesthesia equipment and supplies.
• Maintains anesthesia medications according to the facility’s needs.
• Cleans, organizes, and maintains the anesthesia workroom.
• Prepares and maintains patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems pre, intra, and post anesthesia.
• Performs basic troubleshooting for monitors and equipment and reports issues.
• Maintains quality improvement, safety, infection control standards.
• Documents preventative maintenance and preserves quality records.
• Assists with transport of patients and specimens and travels between facilities.
• Builds collaborative relationships with anesthesia staff, nurse circulators, and surgical teams.
