Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an Anesthesia Technician I to support licensed anesthesia providers in maintaining monitoring devices and delivery systems in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will stock, assemble, and apply anesthesia equipment for procedures, and assist in transporting patients to and from critical areas as needed.

Effective communication and the ability to prioritize actions in an acute care environment are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of direct patient care experience in a healthcare setting or related coursework or an Associate degree.
• BLS certification required within 2 weeks of hire and maintained throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed anesthesia providers in preparation and maintenance of monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems.
• Stock and assemble supplies for operating rooms and NORA sites; apply equipment as needed.
• Assist in transporting patients to and from critical areas and respond to non-OR care areas.
• Prioritize actions and communicate effectively in an acute care environment.
