Job summary
US Anesthesia Partners is seeking a remote daytime coder III with 5+ years of complex surgical CPT/ICD10 experience and 4+ years in anesthesia coding. The role includes mentoring less experienced coders, handling escalated cases, and collaborating with clinicians on documentation issues across Quality, Education, RCM and vendor teams.
Base pay ranges from $21.97 to $35.14 hourly; this position is eligible for a quarterly bonus.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of complex surgical coding across all specialties.
- 4+ years of anesthesia coding experience.
- Current CPC certification (CANPC a plus).
- Experience with multiple EMRs and documentation types.
- Strong MS Word/Excel/Adobe PDF proficiency.
- Excellent communicator across all levels of staff.
Responsibilities
- Review documentation for required elements (attestations, signatures, dates).
- Abstract and code surgical procedures from CPT; cross-walk to ASA codes.
- Apply appropriate modifiers and code ICD10.
- Abstract anesthesia times and events; identify care team providers.
- Review for medical direction; meet KPIs on production and audits.
- Handle escalated cases and provide feedback; generate management reports.
