Job summary

Capital One seeks a Mobile Engineer to lead native Android/iOS development, shaping architecture, and mentoring teams. You’ll drive performance, accessibility, and scalable mobile experiences across platforms, including BFFs and SDUI approaches.

You will partner with designers, product managers, and engineers in a fast-paced Agile environment, advancing AI-assisted tooling and modern UI patterns to deliver high-quality features for a broad customer base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
• At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 3 years building native mobile apps for Android (Kotlin) or iOS (Swift).
• Experience with modern native UI frameworks like SwiftUI or Jetpack Compose.
• Experience designing automated mobile testing suites (Swift XCUI, JUnit, Espresso).
• Experience with scalable mobile architectures and reusable components.
• Experience with BFFs and SDUI architectures using GraphQL/gRPC/Protobuf.

Responsibilities

• Lead mobile features for 100M+ customers with high performance and quality.
• Provide technical leadership for architecture and design patterns.
• Mentor engineers and drive best practices, reviews, and obstacle removal.
• Grow expertise in platform areas like performance and accessibility.
• Contribute to API design reviews and reusable components.
• Lead BFFs/SDUI design and scalable product experiences.
• Drive feature flag strategies and staged rollouts to improve delivery.
• Champion AI tooling adoption and AI-native development practices.
