Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior Android/Kotlin engineer to design and implement features that integrate with media services. You will collaborate on API design with cross-functional teams and contribute to media playback development.

You will influence architecture, write clean code, and participate in the full software lifecycle, including testing and CI. The role emphasizes strong communication and a self-motivated approach to learning new technologies.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of industry experience using Kotlin and the Android SDK.
• Proficiency with Reactive Programming and Dependency Injection.
• Well-versed in architectural patterns (MVI/MVVM or equivalent).
• Experience in full lifecycle of software development.
• Knowledgeable in OO and Reactive paradigms.
• Write efficient, maintainable code and fix defects.
• Experience with unit test frameworks and CI systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Motivated self-starter and ability to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement solutions with team members for new features integrating with Disney media services and back-ends.
• Collaborative API design with peer teams for API Services and front-end dependencies.
• Research and development for media playback experiences, integration, and testing.
• Participate in project estimation and resource planning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across platforms.
