Job summary

Kake is seeking an experienced Senior Android Engineer to advance our live streaming platform. You will design, build, and optimize our Android video player framework and SDK, focusing on performance, reduced latency, and robust playback across devices.

You will tailor ExoPlayer components, ABR logic, and AD tech integrations (IMA/DAI/SSAI), while working with DASH/HLS and dynamic manifests. Strong Kotlin/Java skills and QoE monitoring experience are essential for success in a remote, global

Qualifications

• Strong programming expertise in Kotlin and Java.
• Hands-on ExoPlayer customization and performance optimization.
• Understanding of streaming protocols (DASH, HLS) and adaptive streaming workflows.
• Experience troubleshooting live player performance and rebuffering issues.
• Familiarity with ad integrations (IMA, SSAI, DAI).
• Experience with analytics / QoE monitoring tools (Conviva, Mux, Hydrolix).
• Proficiency with Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Coroutines, and Flows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize Android video player framework and SDK.
• Troubleshoot buffering, latency, and playback performance issues.
• Customize ExoPlayer components and ABR logic.
• Integrate and maintain ad technologies (IMA, DAI, SSAI).
• Work with dynamic manifests (MPD/M3U8) and ABR logic.
