Job summary

Robinhood is seeking a Senior Android Engineer on the iRAD team to build high-impact mobile experiences across investing journeys. You will lead end-to-end Android work, partner with product, design, and backend engineers, and make thoughtful architectural decisions focusing on safety, scalability, and cross-team collaboration.

This role is based in New York City or Menlo Park with in-person attendance required at least 3 days per week; base pay is zone-based with additional bonus, equity, and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience developing Android apps.
• Proficiency with Kotlin and/or Java, and a strong grasp of Android SDK and MVVM.
• Experience using Jetpack Compose, Coroutines & Flow or RxJava, and libraries such as Retrofit and Room.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with a product-focused mindset.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor peers, lead complex projects, and influence architecture decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Build intuitive, elegant, and stable mobile experiences using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android APIs.
• Lead the full lifecycle of product features — from ideation and technical design to implementation, testing, and release.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend Engineers, and Data Scientists to create impactful solutions.
• Champion engineering best practices that ensure code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Mentor junior developers and help elevate team standards and collaboration.
