Job summary

The Trade Desk is seeking a passionate Senior Software Engineer to join our Android team, delivering features for mobile and TV platforms using modern Kotlin development.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to write clean Kotlin with Coroutines and Jetpack Compose, participate in reviews and architecture discussions, and mentor junior engineers to raise our Android standards.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Android development with deep Android SDK knowledge.
• Proficiency in Kotlin, including Coroutines for async programming.
• Hands-on Jetpack Compose for modern UI development.
• Solid understanding of architecture patterns (MVI, Repository, Interactors/Use Cases).
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks.
• Excellent communication and collaboration.
• Ability to mentor and support other engineers.
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) or interest in cross-platform development.
• Familiarity with dependency injection frameworks (e.g., Hilt, Dagger).
• Experience with performance optimization, accessibility, and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and implementation of new features across Android platforms (mobile and TV).
• Write clean, maintainable Kotlin using Coroutines and Jetpack Compose.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship features.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentoring.
• Improve performance, reliability, and developer experience across devices.
• Advocate for best practices in Android development and contribute to technical decisions.
