Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) is seeking an Android Developer for a right-to-hire engagement with a major financial services client in Irving, TX.

You will serve as the senior technical authority for Android, driving architecture, quality, and performance across our flagship mobile banking app used by millions. The role requires hands-on expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Gradle, and modern Android patterns, plus mentoring of engineers and collaboration with product and backend

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience building native Android applications.
• Expert command of Kotlin and modern Android architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, and unidirectional data flow).
• Deep hands-on knowledge of the Android SDK, Android Studio, and the Gradle build system, with the ability to configure and optimize complex multi-module builds.
• Extensive experience with Jetpack libraries, including Jetpack Compose for building declarative UIs at production scale.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve performance issues related to memory, rendering, and battery consumption in production Android applications.
• Track record of shipping or maintaining at least one application on the Google Play Store, with direct accountability for release quality and store presence.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical authority for Android development, leading architecture and delivery of the flagship mobile banking app.
• Architect and lead end-to-end design of major features for the Android application.
• Set direction on Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Coroutines across the engineering function.
• Define and enforce engineering standards for code quality, automated testing, and performance.
• Coach and mentor junior Android engineers and drive engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with Product, UI/UX, and backend teams to translate requirements into robust mobile experiences.
• Optimize performance across memory, battery, and runtime speed.
• Improve development processes, testing strategies, and delivery workflows.
• Assess risk to ensure security, compliance, and platform reliability.
