Job summary

Be | Shaping the Future is seeking a Data-Backend Engineer for its Analytics Workspaces Platform. The role focuses on accelerating analytics engineering, deploying scalable backend systems, and delivering observable, cost-aware analytics environments.

You will own API design, orchestration across Databricks and Power BI, and automation of CI/CD pipelines for notebooks and dashboards. Remote-first, with strong emphasis on cloud-based governance and extensible architecture.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with API design and CI/CD expertise.
• Experience building production APIs and backend automation at scale.
• Deep Azure cloud architecture knowledge (compute, networking, identity, IaC).
• Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting.
• Experience designing systems with bounded contexts and contract-driven APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve analytics workspace platform APIs for provisioning and governance.
• Architect a modular backend across Databricks, Power BI REST APIs, and Azure services.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines for notebooks, dashboards, and models to automate promotions.
• Implement automation for cost attribution, budgets, and idle-resource detection.
• Surface deployment metrics and SLA adherence across analytics workloads.
• Enforce access control, secret management, and data-source policies through code.
