Job summary

Alexion Pharmaceuticals in Boston, MA seeks an Associate Director of Trade & Specialty Pharmacy Analytics to transform complex data into actionable insights. You will drive analytics for specialty pharmacy, distribution, inventory, and partner performance, influencing launch plans and channel strategy.

The role reports to the Head of US Trade & Distribution Strategy and collaborates with cross-functional partners to optimize portfolio execution and patient access.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in specialty pharmacy, healthcare or trade consulting, pharmaceutical trade or distribution, market access, channel analytics, commercial analytics, or related field.
• Demonstrated understanding of U.S. specialty pharmacy, specialty distribution, wholesaler, patient access, reimbursement, and trade partner business models and operations.
• Proven ability to work with large and complex datasets, develop sound analytical approaches, identify meaningful patterns, and translate findings into business recommendations.
• Experience evaluating channel or partner performance through recurring reporting, business reviews, operational metrics, financial analyses, or ad hoc strategic work.
• Strong business acumen and curiosity, with the ability to explain what happened, why, and what action should be considered.
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills for senior and non-technical stakeholders.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for decision-ready analyses and executive narratives.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead analyses of specialty pharmacy, distribution, inventory, and channel performance to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
• Serve as subject matter expert for Trade and Specialty Pharmacy analytics and help stakeholders interpret data.
• Develop analyses and insights supporting launch planning, channel strategy, and optimization across the portfolio.
• Own analytical development and delivery of Quarterly Business Reviews and other partner performance reviews.
• Monitor inventory across Specialty Pharmacies, Distributors, and wholesalers; investigate discrepancies.
• Validate quarterly Direct Sales Agreement payments and related performance calculations.
• Evaluate trade partner effectiveness including patient access trends and service performance.
• Frame analytical approaches for strategic questions and communicate clear viewpoints.
• Identify channel risks and opportunities and escalate with context and next steps.
• Create and improve dashboards, reporting, and repeatable processes to boost visibility and decision-making.
