Job summary

DIRECTV seeks a Sr. Specialist, Advanced Analytics to own end-to-end model lifecycle, from problem framing to deployment and monitoring.

You will partner with business leaders, translate complex outputs into actionable guidance, and mentor junior analysts while driving high-impact projects across multiple teams. The role emphasizes production-grade ML, governance, and collaboration with data engineering, with remote work options nationwide (excluding Alaska).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; master's preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in statistical modeling or data science.
• Advanced ML techniques and production model experience.
• Proficiency in R or Python with strong SQL skills.
• Experience with scalable analytics infrastructure preferred.
• Proven ability to build and deploy LTV, churn, and segmentation models.
• Ability to translate findings into strategic recommendations.
• Strong communication with senior stakeholders and mentoring experience.
• Experience with DIRECTV's analytics infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead full analytic lifecycle from framing to deployment and monitoring.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify high-value opportunities.
• Explain complex models to non-technical audiences.
• Identify data quality issues and model drift; lead remediation.
• Design and deploy advanced predictive models with minimal oversight.
• Establish governance, validation, and monitoring for models.
• Mentor junior analysts on techniques and coding practices.
• Coordinate large cross-team analytic initiatives.
• Stay current on Snowflake, SQL, Databricks, and AI methods.
• Collaborate with data engineering for scalable infrastructure.
• Present findings and business impact to leadership.
