Job summary

DIRECTV seeks a Sr. Specialist, Advanced Analytics to own end-to-end modeling lifecycles, from problem framing to deployment and monitoring. You will translate complex outputs into strategic recommendations for executives and mentor junior analysts.

You will partner with stakeholders to identify high-value opportunities, lead cross-functional projects, and champion advanced techniques across Snowflake, Databricks, and ML workflows. Strong business judgment and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive experience in statistical modeling, predictive analytics, or data science.
• Advanced expertise in machine learning algorithms (e.g., gradient boosting, random forests, clustering, survival analysis).
• Expert-level proficiency in R and/or Python, with strong SQL skills.
• Proven experience building and deploying LTV, churn, and segmentation models in production.
• Mentorship or leadership of junior analysts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full analytical project lifecycle—from framing to deployment and monitoring.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify high-value opportunities and align modeling approaches with business objectives.
• Translate model outputs into clear narratives and actionable recommendations for executives.
• Identify data quality issues, model drift, and remediation in production models.
• Design and deploy advanced predictive models with minimal oversight.
• Establish governance, documentation, validation, and monitoring for models.
• Mentor junior analysts on techniques, coding, validation, and communication.
• Lead cross-team analytical initiatives across contributors and stakeholders.
• Stay current on Snowflake, SQL, Databricks, and emerging AI/ML techniques.
• Collaborate with data engineering to support scalable analytics infrastructure.
• Present findings and business impact to senior leadership.
