Job summary

SailPoint is seeking an Analytics Engineer to join our IT Data Engineering team. You will design, build, and maintain data models and pipelines powering HR and People Analytics reporting. You’ll own data from ingestion to reporting, writing SQL, tests, and access controls to ensure accuracy and security.

You will work with BigQuery, dbt, and Tableau to deliver trustworthy datasets and dashboards for HR leadership and partners, while implementing governance and privacy controls across the stack.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a similar role.
• Advanced SQL skills including window functions, CTEs, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining dbt models with tests and documentation.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses, preferably BigQuery.
• Experience with data pipelines and orchestration tools (Airflow/Cloud Composer).
• Tableau Desktop and Server/Cloud experience with published data sources and RLS.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain modular dbt models in BigQuery.
• Write performant SQL and optimize queries for speed and cost.
• Build data ingestion pipelines from Workday and other sources.
• Develop orchestration and scheduling for data workflows.
• Define and standardize core business metrics for reports.
• Implement dbt tests, docs, and code reviews for quality.
• Enforce data privacy and access controls including Row-Level Security.
• Maintain Tableau data sources and dashboards for HR and leadership.
• Support Tableau administration and refresh schedules.
• Develop datasets for workforce analytics and forecasting.
• Explore AI-assisted analytics for HR and stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot end-to-end data issues and drive fixes.
• Contribute to CI/CD and version control practices.
• Gather requirements and translate to data solutions.
