Job summary

Dateonic is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to bridge backend cloud data platforms with front-end BI capabilities. You will design and maintain cloud-based ETL/ELT workflows, build robust data models, and develop automated reporting using Databricks, Alteryx, Tableau, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on analytics engineering, cloud data platforms, and enterprise BI experience.
• Proven experience with Databricks platform including Python, PySpark, SQL, Delta Lake, and Databricks Workflows.
• Hands-on with Alteryx for automated ETL/ELT, data preparation, and reporting workflows.
• Extensive experience building dashboards in Tableau and Power BI for enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud data architectures.
• Experience with API integrations, data ingestion pipelines, and workflow orchestration (Airflow, Databricks Workflows, or Azure Data Factory).
• Understanding of dimensional data modeling, semantic layers, data validation, and automated quality checks.
• Familiarity with data governance, security standards, and Git-based version control.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of reusable, analysis-ready datasets and models for reporting, BI dashboards, and advanced analytics.
• Design scalable ingestion and transformation pipelines via APIs and cloud connectors using Alteryx, Databricks SQL, PySpark, and Azure services.
• Build and maintain interactive dashboards in Tableau and Power BI, turning complex questions into actionable insights.
• Orchestrate ETL/ELT workflows with Databricks Workflows, Airflow, or Azure Data Factory.
• Own data modeling, semantic consistency, and KPI definitions across analytical assets.
• Perform data validation, QA, and automated anomaly detection to ensure data integrity.
• Troubleshoot complex data modeling and metric discrepancies with root-cause analysis.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and versioned dependencies with code reviews.
• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, AI teams, and stakeholders to align data engineering with ML and reporting needs.
