Job summary

Machinify is hiring a Senior Data Engineer (Analytics) to transform messy operational data into certified models and actionable business reports. You will own the measurement layer, build Power BI dashboards, and ensure data freshness and quality across a multi-platform Databricks-based pipeline.

The role emphasizes governance, dimensional modeling, and strong collaboration with finance, operations, and client teams. Remote-first with US-wide impact.

Qualifications

• 6+ years across analytics engineering, BI engineering, data engineering, or business analysis with production ownership of models and metrics.
• Expert SQL and dimensional modeling instincts.
• Production dbt: models, tests, macros, exposures, documentation, and CI.
• Hands-on with a cloud lakehouse/warehouse (Databricks, Spark SQL); Snowflake/BigQuery/Redshift a plus.
• Strong visualization track record with Power BI; familiarity with Looker/Tableau/Plotly acceptable.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and problem-defining skills.

Responsibilities

• Run discovery with business stakeholders to define acceptance criteria.
• Model noisy healthcare data into certified dimensional models across our dbt SQL architecture.
• Own metric definitions and ensure single source of truth.
• Build and own the visualization layer: Power BI dashboards, semantic models, and reports.
• Own observability for models: freshness, latency, anomaly detection, tests, and CI checks.
• Own orchestration: dbt Cloud jobs and Airflow DAGs.
• Document designs, model docs, and handoff packets.
• Automate recurring work with AI-assisted workflows.
