Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced data/analytics engineer to architect and scale data products and pipelines. You will lead the ELT processes, shape the analytical roadmap, and foster a culture of data-driven decision making.

You will mentor engineers, improve data observability and governance, and help drive AI integration across teams while ensuring data security and privacy compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering and/or analytics engineering.
• Advanced SQL skills with 5+ years of deep experience with Snowflake or similar DB.
• Expertise with data modeling and ETL/ELT (DBT preferred, pipeline development a plus).
• Seasoned developer (5+ years) within a modern business intelligence tool (Looker preferred).
• Experience applying software engineering principles (testing, version control, code reviews, CI/CD, etc.).
• Proven track record of working with data teams in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders.
• Data protections and privacy focus (PII, GDPR, FedRAMP, FIPS, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Architect, build and maintain efficient and reliable data products and pipelines.
• Influence strategy and drive execution of analytical roadmap and self-service BI at scale.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to engineers, promoting quality and collaboration.
• Improve trust via data discoverability, observability, and lineage.
• Contribute to data security strategy protecting sensitive information.
• Solve critical business problems with programming, optimization, and analytics.
• Drive AI adoption and identify opportunities to scale data products.
• Build scalable AI-powered systems for analytics across teams.
• Advise leadership on AI capabilities, limitations and strategy.
