Job summary

TerraPower LLC is seeking a Senior Analytical Chemist to advance analytical methods for the Natrium program. You will lead experiments, develop robust methodologies, and support chemistry control of sodium systems.

The role emphasizes collaboration with design, operations, and safety teams, requiring deep expertise in analytical chemistry and radiation safety. Washington State-based, full-time position with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree required with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with analytical method development and data interpretation.
• Strong ability to design and troubleshoot laboratory experiments.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of analytical methods for Natrium samples.
• Perform thermophysical characterization using DSC and TGA.
• Conduct thermodynamic calculations to support Na/Natrium chemistry.
• Design, set up, and document lab experiments and systems.
• Develop approaches for sodium, salts, cover gas, and impurities analyses.
• Prepare technical work products: certificates of analysis, reports, procedures.
• Manage analytical scope and quality control for Natrium materials.
• Install, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instruments.
• Ensure laboratory procedures meet safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Drive continuous improvement of analytical capabilities and safety.
