Job summary

Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. Company in Plano, TX seeks an experienced product marketer to lead the development of product and community strategies and align internal teams and external partners to meet business objectives.

You will translate market signals into compelling brand messaging, manage cross-functional campaigns, oversee budgets, and drive launches and lifecycle management across vehicle programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher).
  • Experience in product marketing, product development, PR, consumer insights, corporate planning, advertising, sales, and/or pricing with a strong emphasis on strategy development and execution.
  • In-depth understanding of automotive landscapes, including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and battery electric vehicles.
  • Understanding of Community Based Marketing concepts, KPIs, and how they relate to Product Marketing Strategy.
  • Ability to analyze complex marketing plans, define KPIs, and perform data-driven storytelling.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead the development of comprehensive product and community strategies, ensuring alignment and commitment to these strategies among internal teams and external partners; oversee the effective execution of strategic initiatives to meet business objectives and solve marketing problems Serve as the subject matter expert for the assigned vehicle(s), providing deep insights and authoritative guidance on product positioning, competitive differentiation, and market trends to influence strategic decisions Orchestrate integrated marketing communications rooted in strategy across advertising, production, traditional media, social media, digital marketing, content marketing, lead generation, reporting, and measurement Define target customer by conducting and coordinating analytical research and applying findings to create tailored tactics and strategies that communicate clear and compelling brand messaging Interface with agency teams and lead project management oversight for campaign and creative asset development, ensuring process milestones and budget requirements are achieved while finding additional production cost saving opportunities Maintain continuous, 360-degree understanding of product features, specifications, customers, competitors, Communities, communication targets, and segment dynamics and apply this knowledge to all marketing project decisions Integrate user research, market analysis, and inter-departmental feedback into product requirements to ensure products meet customer needs Develop and manage detailed, product specifications documents used in the development of consumer facing collateral materials, digital assets, quick reference guides, and training materials Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis to support team objectives to include pricing, sales performance, and ROI analyses Manage vehicle prototypes, fleet, and requests on an ongoing basis Build strong relationships and collaborate across teams to establish credibility, navigate complex projects, and execute product and Community strategies to achieve business goals Lead product launch, sustain, and lifecycle management support across customer and Community touchpoints working closely with internal stakeholders Utilize advanced analytical skills to interpret complex data sets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to create compelling stories that drive strategic marketing decisions and continuous process improvements Represent the team in key meetings, discussions, and events, effectively communicating objectives, updates, and feedback to stakeholders and leadership as the go-to expert on vehicle strategy Proactively identify opportunities and take initiative to drive improvements, solve problems, and contribute to team success Build cross-divisional relationships to deepen understanding of operations and foster collaboration in achieving shared departmental goals.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher)
  • Experience in product marketing, product development, PR, consumer insights, corporate planning, advertising, sales, and/or pricing with a strong emphasis on strategy development and execution
  • In-depth understanding of automotive landscapes, including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and battery electric vehicles
  • Understanding of overall Community Based Marketing concepts, assigned Community details, key performance indicators (KPIs), and how they relate to Product Marketing Strategy
  • Must be able to comprehend complex marketing plans, define, and identify KPIs, utilize relevant tools and technologies, and complete the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle for future campaigns
  • Ability to build credibility and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to execute product strategy
  • Thorough understanding of marketing metrics and analytics, proactive in analyzing performance and suggesting improvements, can apply strategic thinking, problem solving, and hypothesis-driven data analysis
  • Demonstrated experience translating unstructured data into actionable insights for decision making
  • Experience as a project lead or project management level role in a strategic product marketing or product strategy management work assignment
  • Proven ability to effectively manage and steward marketing budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize return on investment and achieve strategic objectives
  • Experience in Microsoft Suite skills (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with ability to manipulate and create pivot tables and functions for data-driven storytelling
  • Strong communication skills and business acumen to understand corporate strategy and present actionable findings to management as a trusted subject matter expert
  • Able to work well independently and as part of a cohesive team
  • The ability to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally

  • Automotive or high-tech product launch experience
  • Relevant experience applying prominent marketing strategy models for a large global brand
  • Familiarity with key automotive market data sources (examples: Maritz NVCS & NVAS, PIN, Polk Insight, JD Power studies, GfK studies, Tableau, etc.) or demonstrated competency to quickly learn and use these tools
  • Experience in an environment where capable of both high-level strategic responsibilities and tactical tasks such as report creation and data analysis
