Job summary

Acre in Baltimore is seeking a Financial Data Governance professional to build trusted data for ERP and reporting. You will design data models, governance rules, and automated dashboards that support Accounting, Controllership, and Tax across the enterprise.

You will collaborate with Accounting, Controllership, Finance, and IT to ensure data integrity, enable near real-time reporting, and strengthen internal controls through analytics and modern data platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, IS, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 4+ years supporting Accounting, Controllership, Financial Reporting, Audit, Financial Systems, or Finance Transformation.
• Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, NetSuite, or PeopleSoft.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting processes, GL structures, and reconciliation concepts.
• Experience with Power BI and SQL.
• Experience designing data quality controls, validation rules, reconciliations, or governance frameworks.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both accounting and technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The ideal candidate combines a strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting processes with hands‑on experience working with ERP data (SAP), financial systems, data governance, reconciliation and accounting processes, and reporting automation. This individual will help ensure the integrity, consistency, and usability of financial data across enterprise systems while building reporting and dashboard solutions that strengthen internal controls and enable better decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Data Governance & Integrity

• Serve as a steward of financial and accounting data across ERP and reporting platforms.
• Establish and maintain data governance processes, business rules, validation controls, and reporting standards.
• Partner with Accounting and Controllership teams to identify and resolve data quality, reconciliation and reporting issues.
• Ensure consistency of master data, including chart of accounts, cost centers, legal entities, project structures, and other finance‑related reference data.
• Define and document data lineage, transformation logic, reporting definitions, and business rules.
• Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions supporting Accounting, Financial Reporting, Tax, Treasury, and Controllership functions.
• Automate manual control activities, reconciliations, and reporting processes through technology and analytics solutions.
• Develop monitoring tools and exception reporting that improve financial controls and reduce operational risk.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
• Work closely with ERP system owners and finance stakeholders to support reporting, data management, and system enhancements.
• Analyze transactional and master data from platforms such as SAP or similar ERP environments.
• Support financial systems implementations, integrations, upgrades, and transformation initiatives.
• Ensure downstream reporting solutions align with accounting and reporting requirements.

Finance Transformation

• Support initiatives that modernize financial reporting, improve close processes, and strengthen financial data management.
• Translate accounting and reporting requirements into scalable data models and reporting solutions.
• Drive continuous improvements in financial reporting architecture and governance processes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience supporting Accounting, Controllership, Financial Reporting, Audit, Financial Systems, or Finance Transformation functions.
• Experience working with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, NetSuite, or PeopleSoft.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting processes, general ledger structures, and reconciliation concepts.
• Experience with Power BI and SQL.
• Experience designing data quality controls, validation rules, reconciliations, or governance frameworks.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both accounting and technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting a Controller's organization or Financial Reporting team.
• Experience with financial data governance, master data management, or data stewardship programs.
• Exposure to chart of accounts governance, legal entity structures, cost center hierarchies, or other finance master data domains.
• Experience with Python, Databricks, Azure, or cloud‑based analytics platforms.
• Background in audit analytics, finance transformation, accounting systems, or ERP reporting.
• CPA, CPA-track, Accounting degree, or equivalent accounting experience.
