Job description

Position Summary:

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is a highly experienced data professional with a passion for preparing and presenting information in a visually appealing and easily understood manner, making it relevant and actionable for key stakeholders. The position requires the ability to collect and synthesize complex data from multiple sources, provide intellectual rigor to analysis and interpretation processes, and derive meaningful insights that support the achievement of strategic and operational goals. This person will act as an internal consultant to other departments to support and facilitate their understanding of our data. They will maximize the use of our enterprise data warehouse and develop solutions that can be scaled. All team members must enjoy working collaboratively with data and cross-functional partners. Must be comfortable working independently, learning from senior team members, but also providing thoughtful re-direction and feedback as appropriate. Senior analysts have a greater level of responsibility for analytics and interpretation of findings, as opposed to just report creation and delivery. Senior analysts should think beyond daily reporting responsibilities by taking initiative to improve communication (i.e., provide insights and caveats to findings) as well as provide input to the team concerning processes, procedures, and documentation.

  • Perform functions related to problem definition, data collection, interpretation and analysis, visualization, and presentation/communication of results and recommendations.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of healthcare coding and analytics techniques.
  • Develop predictive models and forecast risks for patient and provider populations.
  • Validate findings and continue to maintain implemented models.
  • Observe patterns and create new attributes to address needs, and utilize across models.
  • Manage time appropriately to deliver results.
  • Ensure documentation of all processes, analyses, design, data definitions, and development.
  • Work with various cross-functional teams including sales, product development, clinical, and care services.
  • Understand HIPAA and complete confidentiality protocols, sign confidentiality documents and comply with HIPAA privacy laws and all other federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Report suspected or detected security events via company provided communication channels, following all company-defined operational policies and procedures that protect and maintain confidentiality of company and customer information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent experience—in business, mathematics, statistics, economics, or similar background.
  • 3 years’ work experience in analytics.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with statistical software such as SAS.
  • SQL experience preferred.
  • Per Healthmap’s HR Security Policy, this position is considered HY (high risk for PHI and may require additional training/screening).
