Whitman Insight Strategies (WINS) is a research and insights consultancy that helps leading organizations uncover insight, turn it into action, and make strategic decisions with confidence. By blending a deep understanding of their clients’ business, data discipline, and storytelling, we design research that delivers real-world impact.
We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join our NYC-based team.
The ideal candidate is both strategic and execution-oriented – someone who leads by doing, brings structure to unstructured challenges, and is energized by connecting business objectives with data-driven insight to deliver clear and actionable recommendations.
What You'll Do
- Play a pivotal role in running custom research engagements from start (proposal) to finish (presentation & socialization) as part of a project team
- Assess client needs, design and execute research (quantitative and qualitative) to answer key questions and provide clients with actionable recommendations and next steps
- Synthesize data into compelling narratives and presentations that grab attention, reinforce key points, and can be easily understood by multiple client audiences
- Manage the day-to-day of multiple ongoing research projects — serving as a client contact while keeping timelines, vendors, and deliverables on track
- Learn and gain vital experience for career progression to a project leadership role: at WINS, the Senior Analyst position is a clear pathway to career advancement
Who You Are
We are looking for talented individuals whose own values match ours:
- A motivated self-starter with a passion for solving client problems and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple workstreams
- Naturally curious, quick and eager to both learn new things and apply new learnings to other scenarios
- Someone who enjoys innovating and experimenting on a daily basis
- A storyteller with data: you can find the signal in the numbers and turn it into a clear, persuasive narrative
- Impactful and reliable: You do lots of great work, and that's apparent to your clients, colleagues and co-workers who know they can rely on you
- An exceptional communicator
Requisite Skills & Experience
- 2-4 years of experience in custom market research, with experience on the agency side preferred
- Proven success in a client-facing role, including managing day-to-day client communication
- Demonstrated project management skills: coordinating timelines, vendors, and internal teams across simultaneous projects
- Bachelor's Degree (or greater) from a top academic institution
- Experience and familiarity with the real-world application of quantitative market research techniques including: Brand & Campaign Tracking, Market/Audience Segmentation, Message & Communications Testing, Concept/Copy Testing, Brand Positioning Research, and Awareness & Usage Research
- Comfort using AI tools (e.g., Claude) to accelerate research work such as desk research, drafting, analysis, and synthesis — with sound judgment about their limits
- Familiarity with advanced analytics such as Regression, Factor, and Cluster analysis (note: this role is not a statistician or data scientist, but candidates should possess some understanding of how these methodologies work, and how to design research to facilitate them)
Compensation, Benefits, and Employee Status
- The salary for this full-time position is commensurate with experience, with an anticipated salary range for this position $80,000 to $95,000 yearly
- We have a full-time office in New York City and have a flexible work week (Tuesday-Thursday in office and Monday + Friday remote)
- Our comprehensive benefits package includes personal time off, sick leave, parental leave, holidays, health, dental, and vision insurance, a Profit Sharing Plan with 401(K) option the month following 1 year of service, and a commuter benefits account.
- The role will offer opportunities to travel for client-related projects
