Job summary

Schwan's Company in Deer Park, TX is seeking a Refrigeration Supervisor to lead maintenance on production refrigeration equipment, ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance. The role requires ammonia refrigeration experience and supervisory responsibilities in a food manufacturing setting.

You will oversee preventive maintenance, coordinate with external repair teams, and mentor staff while adhering to PSM, OSHA, EPA regulations and Schwan's standards.

Qualifications

• Ammonia refrigeration experience required.
• Supervisory experience in a food manufacturing setting preferred.
• Knowledge of PSM, OSHA, EPA regs and sanitation standards preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Basic PC skills including MS Office; SAP beneficial.
• Willingness to work any shift and be on-call.

Responsibilities

• Direct maintenance and preventive maintenance of production machinery.
• Supervise technical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of ammonia refrigeration equipment.
• Manage the food safety sanitation, quality, and security of the food products produced.
• Coordinate with external service agencies for timely repair work and ensure completion of work orders.
• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance as required by PSM schedules.
• Maintain, repair, and examine refrigeration systems (Ammonia and Freon).
• Log daily test results and adjust systems to stay within established limits.
• Interface with state and federal agencies as required.
• Confer with operators to diagnose malfunctions and supervise repairs.
• Supervise and develop subordinates; enforce safety procedures.
