Schwan’s Company in Deer Park, TX is seeking a Refrigeration Supervisor to direct maintenance of production equipment and oversee ammonia refrigeration systems, ensuring reliability and safety in a fast-paced food production environment. You will manage preventive maintenance, supervise technicians, enforce EPA PSM and OSHA safety standards, and coordinate external service vendors.

Competenze

• 3+ years related experience; Ammonia Refrigeration experience required.
• Must have knowledge and skills in general construction, electrical systems, electronic systems, microprocessors, mechanical systems (refrigeration, boilers, HVAC, hydraulics and pneumatics) and CMMS.
• Working knowledge of food plant production and processing equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety regulations (PSM & OSHA) and EPA regulations, USDA and sanitation standards preferred.
• Must have previous supervisor experience.
• Basic PC skills including MS Office and Outlook.
• SAP experience is beneficial.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have basic mathematical and problem-solving skills to generate and maintain departmental reports.
• May be required to be clean shaven if trained to use a respirator.
• Must be capable and willing to work any shift and be on 24-hour call for emergencies.

Mansioni

• Direct the maintenance and preventive maintenance of all production machinery and building maintenance needs.
• Supervise technical maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and repair of ammonia refrigeration equipment.
• Manage food safety sanitation, quality, and security of the food products produced.
• Comply with EPA PSM regulations for hazardous facilities (Process Safety Management, Emergency Response, Risk Management Plans).
• Coordinate external service agencies to schedule refrigeration repair work and ensure timely completion.
• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance as required by PSM schedules.
• Maintain, repair, and inspect ammonia and Freon refrigeration systems.
• Conduct daily chemical testing and log results, adjusting parameters to keep systems within limits.
• Interface with state and federal agencies as required.
• Observe and diagnose machinery operation to identify malfunctions.
• Disassemble machinery for repairs and ensure ammonia safety equipment is up to date.
• Adhere to Safety Programs to protect employees and property.
• Supervise and train subordinates.
• Model conduct aligned with Schwan’s Company mission and ethics policies.
• Ensure proper use of PPE during shifts.
